'Wow!' for Mom!

Did you ever notice that turning the letters for 'Mom' upside-down, spells

WOW!

I think that's so incredibly appropriate!

Maybe it's because even after the 9,000th diaper change she still wants to sit down and play on the floor with her babies.

Maybe it's because she waits up till 5am in the morning for her teenager to come home, has a 'talk' doling out consequences and still gets up, puts her make up on and goes to work the next day.

Or maybe it's because even when she is sun-starved and in full fledged cabin-fever, she can still cook dinner, post a blog, bathe and put down two toddler boys while husband is out of town, and still stands smiling.

Renoir
Or because she has patience day after day,  to

Sort a mountain of laundered socks,

Teach fractions while bleary-eyed tired,

Remind her children to practice their piano

over         and       over         again,

Drive them everywhere when she'd rather nap,

Kiss her husband (and more) when he gets home,

Cook another meal, make five lunches,

Volunteer at school, work a second job, potty train,

Discipline when she'd rather turn a blind eye,

Run a business and wipe runny noses.

WOW!!!!

Renoir's Mother and Children - 1875

 She is amazing!!

She gives her best years
Her every-inch-and-ounce-of-her-life while she's
Sometimes crazy for quiet
Desperate for rest.

She sets aside
Her own mission and quest,
(until they fly the coop and more time is allotted her).

That's MOM, alright!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all you MOMS

You, who continue to love till it hurts

                                                         Care till you're crazy
                                                                                                       Lecture till they learn.

That's big stuff you do.

Yeah,

The hand that rocks the cradle...

Rocks!!
